Saol fada chugat! (Long life to you!)
Large and giant breed dogs are considered senior dogs around 6-7 years old. Depending on which study you research, the average lifespan of an Irish Wolfhound is somewhere around 6-7-8 years. However, it is not unusual that many of us have been blessed to hit that grand milestone of ten years or more.
Many factors go into the longevity of our hounds. Regular vet visits are paramount as many diseases are hidden. Knowing what ails them, we can provide the necessary care they need. One of the best things we can do for our hounds is to practice preventative care.
This page is dedicated to our double-digit veterans. Slainte!
